C (1971) is based on B (1969), based on BCPL (1967), based on CPL (1963), based on ALGOL 60 (1960), which is based on ALGOL 58 (195, based on FORTRAN I (1956), based on FORTRAN (1954).

I agree, C has evolved, like C++ is the object oriented version of C, maybe the next will be D,E,F,G,H,I, J,JAVA,JAVA++

Delphi too. Best for quick development, combined ease of VB (drag and drop of controls) and the power of c (code related). I tried just everything, but only Delphi allow me to develop quick any application.
