Folks if you were say Mayor , or Congressman, City Planner , how would you address growing problem of Traffic in these changing times..

Think outside the box ... Think of Change ... a Plan that addresses front to end ...

Please No answers like "build another flyover" ... or expand roads ... Give a small plan of yours

Aside from widening more roads, PUJ's should be completely replaced by buses and implementation of train transport.. a very strict compliance and enforcement on road/traffic rules, fine + 6 moths suspension of license for certain traffic violations like loading/unloading on a non designated spot.

This will cut travel time, develop the entire island of Cebu and improve the lives of the people from the province so they don't have to go to the City to make a living , go to school .. etc.

I'm trying to understand this, build an expressway so people in the provinces don't have to go to City to make a living? So its more of people living in the City that will travel to latter? Well i'm all for infrastructure, connecting provinces for easier access , but in the overall scheme how does that solve the main problem in the city with heavy traffic?

And yet another day of experiencing bottlenecks at jeepney stops (in a no stopping area in Banilad and a CITOM standing just beside them!!! WTF!?) only to find there is absolutely NO TRAFFIC once you get past them.

Sigh! I would normally just say "hopeless" but I'm hoping and praying that there is somebody in office that really cares about this city and have the power to do something about it.

Most of the people studying, working and living here in the City are from the provinces. (80% of students enrolled in most colleges here in the city come from the provinces)

They choose to stay here because of limited opportunities for education, employment and commerce in the provinces.

Provided that we have satellite mega cities in Carcar and Danao for example, growth would be spread out to the entire island and there would be reason to invest in infrastructure for transportation to North, Central and Southern Cebu.

Notice that wala kaayoy traffic sa Cebu during holidays where people go home to the provinces.

The problem ra gyud is nag hu-ot tanan tao diri sa Cebu City ... so the solution is simply to spread out growth . Infrastructure projects like an expressway will follow suit.

Given an expressway from Danao to Cebu, (distance of 64km) It would take just 40 minutes to an hour to travel north to south. and 20 minutes to Cebu Central.
