pacheck lang bro.. kay rodent baya ng gerbil, re-check with a doctor specifically against leptospirosis... ive checked this article and it says GERBILS are included in the common carrier of leptospirosis... para safety ra bay.

if you read through the link ive posted, particularly page 726 last paragraph (mode of transmission) it is stated that :

"Infection with leptospira most frequently results from handling infected animals... Skin abrasions or exposure to mucuos membranes may serve as a portal of entry. All secretions and excretions from infected animals should be considered infective... Rodent bites can also transmit the disease (Looke 1986) ..." (italics mine)

para lang gyud sigurado, ayaw lang kumpyansa, patan-aw lang gyod. kuyaw baya ning leptospirosis kay wala or late na ang symptoms mugawas.
