after the flash the 6950 would be a 6970 then? wa nay mamalit ug 6970 ug mao ni hehehe

@jungie
yup, that's correct. assuming the card is stable after the flash then you have a 6970, the shaders increase to 1536 from 1408, and so does the clocks, from 800/1250 to 880/1375.
some unlocks can be unstable though, for my 1st 6950, I had to lower the clocks to core clock to 830 to be stable but shaders remained at 1536 and I bumped the memory clocks to 1430 ending up with 830/1430.
heres a screenie of mine:
this shows that only 1 out of 2 unlocks was stable:

a good thing to do if the card is NOT STABLE after the unlock is to download sapphire TRIXX, and underclock the core till its stable (based on experience and other forum posts, it's usually the core clock causing unstability, some cards were binned for 6950 since they can't reach 880 core clock).
once you have stable clocks, ex. 850/1375, then just save a BIOS using TRIXX, and just flash your 6950 with that BIOS, that way, you have unlocked shaders, and a stable overclock, still faster than a regular 6950, you can also overclock the memory (they usually reach 1450 even higher), to still exceed 6970 performance...
mine is also unlocked, since december pa. pero not the 6970 bios ang naka load, same bios as stock but only shaders unlocked. the problem with loading 6970 bios is, dili daw pareha ug memory chip ang 6950 ug 6970 ( base sa ako pag google hehe). so running 6950 under 6970's memory clock would cause instability after long run. besides, ang voltage if naka 6970 bios ka will be higher ( from 1.1v to 1.175v) dako chance ma shorter pa gyud ang life sa card. okay ra ang core kay same die rman sila sa 6970., so kaya pa ni 6950 ang 880 mhz nga core speed pero ang 1375 mem speed ambot lang kaha kay sa ako experience kaya rman niya for pila ka days pero dont know ig kadugayan mo saler pa ba.
karon i'm running at 840/1300 mhz core/mem speed stable baya .
edit: one more thing ako na bantayan, increasing mem speed wlay significant increase sa dirt 2 fps ambot lang kaha sa ubang games.
sayang, even though they don't have the same chips, you'll notice they even reach 1450 easy, and duha ka 6950 nako niabot jud ana stable, wa na lang gani nako gi try ug pataas pa, sa core ra na short ang isa.karon i'm running at 840/1300 mhz core/mem speed stable baya .
not sure what the specs of your system are, might be your cpu bottlenecking your gpu that's why you don't notice any performance difference when you OC. could also be other factors, like the resolution you use, settings, etc.one more thing ako na bantayan, increasing mem speed wlay significant increase sa dirt 2 fps ambot lang kaha sa ubang games.
no problem with my catalyst and trixx, powertune stays at 20%...ako lang na notice ug mo gamit kag TRIXX boss is di na nimo ma adjust ang powertune upto 20%, mo balik gyud cya sa stock.. o basi ako trixx beta version pa cguro to
ah, ok basin old skul pato ako trixx. wa naman sad gud ko nag search bag-o release unya hadlok sad ko mag OC more kay wa nakoy kwarta ika palit ug bag-o card gud haha.
niabot man sad ako card at 900/1400 speed boss, stable man sya sa kumbustor for 3 hrs pero mao lagi nagduha duha ko basin 1 month or so diha na mo gawas ang mga problema ako nlng gi lower.kapoy cge huna huna sa card while palying games, di na nun ko ga enjoy hehe
I've read some posts on the net that the memchips get damaged due to the tighter timings on the 6970 but not all chips are affected, might wanna consider editing that bios to still have the same mem timing as the 6950, its virtually a 0.5~0.3fps loss anyway.
