FACT: Betelguese might indeed go supernova sometime soon.

FICTION: While some Supernova explosions are bright enough to be seen during daytime, the peak brightness dili mo last--mga 2 hours lang siguro, and it will fade fast after that. So the term "Second Sun" is too much of a stretch--maybe if Jupiter ignited into a star, then the term is more apt. A more fitting term for a Betelguese gone supernova would be "daytime star" if in case light from the explosion arrives in our solar system when it's daytime on earth.
