For me:
It really depends on the user. For me P990 is better for business, the flip open gives me all the convenience when taking down notes setting scheds/apointments, checking emails and writing emails also surfing the net is easier with touch screen.

So the touch screen alone makes a world of difference for me.

But

The n93 is also an awesome phone, esepcially with its TV out function. But this is geared towards a different market segment, more on for Artists I think or videographers. I already have most of these functionalities on my IPOD so I am not looking for them to be intigrated with my phone since playing videos still takes up a lot of battery.


In Short:
P990 = Cellphone + PDA + Video Camera(not as good as N93 and no TV Out) + 2 Mega Pixel Camera (According to some reviews takes great pics some even better than N93, but has too small a flash) + Mp3 Player (use it mostly for ringtones- Ipod still better but is a great backup when I accidentally leave my ipod)

N93: = Cellphone + Video Camera(great quality and video TV output) + 5 Megapixel Digicam (but dosnt take that good pics yet) + MP3 PLayer

Being a PDA is the difference.

n91 is a first generation phone with all the bugs

p990i is the first also.... it has bugs.... and i think waiting out for 6 more months will flush out all those bugs... same with n91 it has bugs..... in due time with revisions bugs can be eliminated

what i am trying to imply is new phones have bugs and n91 or the p990i is not an exception.... so wait it out 6 months or even less....

with regards to the n93 camera..... only the k800i cybershot phone is comparable...

Yes I read that review and and there is a strong debate about that review over at my-symbian.com

For me that review is flawed.

User interface of the P990 is new, very distant from that of its siblings the P910i, P900 and P800. I like the new user interface a lot since it already intigrates the functionalities which we welcomed before through 3rd part aps (handy day and tracker) The review is mostly based on using the phone for the first time, you hav to adjust to it because of the radically changed U.I. Unike on a windows mobile device, windows is windows.. Interface is the same. Once you get use to the U.I. (it took me 3 days) everything runs asmoothly, its quicker to get to where you want to go on the phone.

As for the Software, it has one major bug, its memory allocation for aps, so far that it. Same bug that windows mobile devices have (you can only run up to about 14 aps at a time on windows pocket PC and 10 at a time on the P990 but, who really uses 14 aps a time? Well there maybe a few, but I dont)

Most phones that come out always have bugs, windows, Symbian (all series), palm. What we need to look at is how fast these companies can respond:
SE already had 1 software update just when it was released. It improved the speed a lot, so first thing I did was update it before using it. Its coming up with a second update due first week of sept (that this week)

What I like the P990 is the convenience of letting the user do the update themselves. You can easily flash the firmware of your own home with out having to pay any1 (unless you dont have DSL)

Again my point still stands:
N93 and P990 are for very different user groups geared toward to different markets. The N93 can be compared to the K800 but it shouldnt even be, Nokia was the first to come up with a mobile phone/video camera where more of the video camera is the star.

thats why i said when you say the n91 is slow............. get yourself a p990i and see it for yourself....

i think the reviewer was a p-series user not a first time user. it was in depth and i think his suggestions should be taken up by sony ericsson.

and its just not him also.... i think he posted a forum concering p990i and its problems.........

with regards to firmware updates.... nokia has done it too and there is a thread about it here.......
