    Default I certainly hope not

I don't think a computer screen will ever replace the tactile, visual, and yes, olfactory stimulation that holding a book in your hands provides. It's just... different. Reading text off a screen will never compare. (same goes for audio books - having someone read words to you takes a little away from the personal experience... )

i hope it never will! an electronic reader, kindle or computer monitor can never be the same sa flipping through the pages of a real book.

this is like masturbation...it can never replace real intercourse ...

I'm tempted to buy a Kobo Reader cuz' they have a free 100 classic novels . The gadget is worth $150 ; so basically you're paying $1/novel and $50 for the gadget . Kindle is overpriced and overrated .

Never. I, for one, is old fashioned. Let's just say it's passion. I love my books and I love collecting them.

I think it still depends on the reader's preferences.
My friends and I are voracious readers. Some of us own Kindles, two of us own iPads and when traveling, I read from my iPod. When ebooks and the like came out, we patronized them but the frequency with with we buy books in hard copies never waned. We all still visited Fullybooked, Powerbooks, Booksale and National Bookstore religiously to buy books. I guess it's safe to say that we read books in digital form ONLY for the sake of convenience. My friend who has a Kindle loves the fact that while traveling or waiting in the doctor's office, she has access to the 8,000 books she currently has on her Kindle. She doesn't have to choose which one/s to bring because if she gets bored with one book, she can go ahead and read another on her Kindle. She still buys books.
I also love graphic novels, and fashion and photography coffee table books. When they're in digital format, I don't really appreciate them. I mean, how can you when the photos are small and blurry?
A lot of people went for ebooks when they first came out and never looked back. That's their choice. So long as my friends and I and a lot of other certified book lovers are around, I don't think books will really be a thing of the past.

i dont think so. even though there are ipads and other stuff to read ebooks, nothing beats reading in a ordinary book
