    PSEi might continue to go down so for those who are planning to invest in mutual funds, it might be good to hold your horses just yet. The selling might continue so affected pud ang mutual funds. NAVPS might continue to go down so huwat2 lang. Patience is a virtue. As they say, March is the best time to buy so keep an eye to that.

    Going down and at the bottom are two different things. What we want is the latter para mamaximize gyud ang investment. Actually, there is really nothing wrong kung di pa kaayo ubos ang NAVPS but sayang lang ang potential sa gains.

    Ang forecast sa BDO is that ang PSEi kay maigo ang 3600 mark. Naa pa sa 3900 ang PSEi karon so layo2 pa gyud ang naogon. It might be wise to wait nga maigo na ang 3600 or mas maayo wait for confirmations nga moubos pa gyud. Mutual funds are strongly affected by the stock market, pwede nato gamiton ang PSEi as a barometer sa NAVPS.

    Experienced traders are also saying that March is a very good time to buy, mabullish balik ang market. Kung daghan mopalit, mosaka ang value sa mga stocks and in the process mosaka pud ang NAVPS.

    So since padung pa man ubos ang NAVPS, huwaton na lang nato mahit niya ang ubos or at least naa duol gyud siya sa ubos. IMO, murag layo2 pa gyud ang naogon sa NAVPS.

    Other experts, pls. enlighten us. Are you supporting Mackie's insights? Why wait for March or sometime else wherein there's no assurance yet that it will continue to go down. Why not now?
    If magsige pa ubos, then magpadaun pa pud invest but if mosaka na before March, then OK ra pud kay naka-invest naman karon pa lang daan.

    Need your advice other experts para ma-enlighten mi.

    Thanks.

    @smartcool:

    I will answer your concerns.

    Why wait for March? Actually, kanang March is just a forecast. It might continue to go down or basin di kaabot ang March mosaka na balik. Or maybe another possibility, even pag March mocontinue na ug padung sa ubos. Everything is possible, di nato matag-an ang market.

    Downtrend ang PSE karon and mutual funds are highly affected by the stock market so it's not wise to invest against the trend. The very fact that padung ubos ang market, ngano moinvest man ta? Why not wait for the confirmation sa market nga padung na saka?

    Actually, ok man kaayo moinvest anytime kay ang projection sa economy is positive man but if mas nindot ang gains, timing is also important. To further illustrate my point, hatag ko ug example:

    Let's compare Mr. A and Mr. B. Si Mr. A niinvest karon ug P20000 at P20 per share getting 1000 shares. Mr. B invested pagFebruary P20000 but at P17 per share getting 1175 shares. Now assuming that ila lang gipasagdan ilang investment and at the end of the year nisaka ang NAVPS to P25, Mr. A will be having P25000 while Mr. B will be having P29375. The difference? Mr. B entered with the better timing. Mr. B investigated the market first before investing while Mr. A is just speculating.

    Actually, wala man gyuy sayop because ang gains sa mutual funds nindot man gyud but if you want better gains, don't go against the trend sa market. If you could spare some time, monitor the market para mahibaw-an nimo ang nindot nga entry. Kanang March projection ra na sa BDO nga moabot ug 3600 ang PSEi which is very low compared sa 2010. It might go back up when it get to 3600, it might go back up even before reaching 3600, or it might continue to fall even ubos na siya sa 3600. Just keep track of the market ug kanus-a mosaka ang PSEi. Kung mosaka ang PSEi, saka pud na ang mutual funds. For me, that is the perfect entry.

    @ Mackie, thanks for the explanation. How about if Mr. A who invested on January based on your illustration will invest again on February dungan ni Mr. B? Mas mo-gain siya right? Then mo-invest pa gyud si Mr. A on March. Regular or monthly siya mag-invest. Is it advisable? I think... Yes.

    IMO, anytime is the best time to invest for as long as long term imong target. Since MF man atong gihisgutan, kung ako pabut-on mo invest nko krn, dli ko mohuwat ug march. Kung March pa mo-ubos ug maayo ang price, maka-benefit man gihapon ko coz regular man akong investment like, monthly.
