If you don't care then why are you posting here? You must at least care what the TS thinks, otherwise you wouldn't be here. Whether or not he is ashamed of Cebu or not, is irrelevant - why does it matter to you? That is only a small part of his point, his major point is that Cebu is not a top tourist destination. The sad part is that it could be. We are already blessed with all the natural scenery an island could have, too bad we haven't built the infrastructure to make them accessible to tourists. TO EVERYONE:

I'll try to simplify my issue since many have posted so many OT posts and have claimed so many bullshit, even accuse or attack me personally.

My issue is I do not agree that Cebu is a top tourist destination simply bcoz there's not much to see and experience in Cebu (Cebu province generally) for regular tourist. I say tourist, I mean regular tourist not adventurist of all ages not just the youth and young adults.

Tourism for me appeals and excites all human senses and should create a resounding "wow". A tour is normally a brief visit thus a place must offer a fulfilling experience packed in a day or few days.

Now, since you have passionately claimed the contrary about Cebu, opposing my opinion, I challenge you to give a Cebu tour itinerary (anywhere in Cebu group of islands) in a day (20 hours) and we'll evaluate the "wow" factor. And let's compare it with a day in Baguio, Batanes or even Bohol (local lang para dli kau dako ang disparity). Cost is non-issue. Cost must not be considered. It must not limit your itinerary.

Now this is more like it. Ok i agree. Claiming it to be on "top" is just over-rated. Sa palimpyuhay lang, pildi na ta vs Baguio. As for your "wow" factor, it does needs work. I'm talking about mactan island converted into a haven of amusement parks, killer roller coaster rides, 24/7 mega casinos and whathaveyou other than the resorts we already have. Plus subway stations, MRTs, organized public transpo, and a complete overhaul on the roads - you can't just call Colon Street the oldest street ever if it doesn't look "old" enough. Lets dig deep until we find the original cobblestones and put them all back piece by piece.

^ will the regular tourist be able to go to all those places without a lot of difficulty and frustration given our present infrastructure? Remember that tourists are here to relax, they don't want to be aggravated with the headache of figuring out how to get to places and that is the main problem we have here, our infrastructure sucks! Tourists aren't going to be bothered when there are so many other alternatives with half the inconvenience. Good luck to tourists who attempt to see all that in 20 hours. They will be spending 5 hours just trying to figure out how to get from point A to point B without getting robbed.

This by the way is the reason why the vast majority of our tourists never leave their exclusive resorts. They fly in, go to Shangri-La, then get on the first flight out. They just couldn't be bothered with the hassle of seeing anything else because it's not worth the trouble.
