Bro Karp, Canon's Image Stabilization works like a charm.
Theoretically, it saves you 3 to 4 stops exposures handheld.
So even at 200mm, a lot of times you can still get decent shots at 1/25 to 1/12 sec.
That's why when people ask me if the price of IS is worth it considering its almost double the price (atleast for the 70-200 F4), i always tell them that it is.
I would choose F/4 IS over F/2.8 non-IS any day =)
