My requirements are to pay the minimum taxes achievable, will need bank account along with internet banking and a credit merchant account to accept credit card payments for my Athletic shoe shop. Many thanks in advance.

    Anyone here in Vancouver?

I've been here since November 2009. It's pretty good here, especially that my rent is free coz I'm staying with my aunt. It wasn't too hard to get a job and I've been on it for about 6 months. I was already able to buy a car and working on getting my license (mao lang na kay di pareha sa pinas nga mapalit ra). Salary-wise, even mid-range salary is more than enough. Taxes are crazy in Vancouver though, so I usually do my shopping online or in the US (Seattle) which is just about 2 hours away.

If you're not too picky, getting a job is easy. If you are, it'll take time like me, but it wasn't that hard. I worked for a call center in Cebu despite having a degree, so I decided to make the experience count. I'm now working as a technical agent for a prime company. Good thing they recognized my experience coz employers here are usually picky. The case is that if it's not Canadian experience, it doesn't count. But some employers who have experienced working with pinoys (usually cebuanos), will be more that happy to give you the job.

As for fun, malls are usually too far so people tend to stay home. Makamingaw sad ang beaches dinha sa Cebu, but in turn, I've really learned to love camping and hiking in the summer. We usually go out to lakes and provincial parks to enjoy the outdoors and it's really refreshing. If you go downtown (Vancouver), there's lots of things to do from shopping to bar hopping (just be sure you budget wisely). Also the occasional trips to Seattle just so we can eat Chow King and Jollibee. XD
