Acai Antioxidant
As you may know, antioxidants are the best defense we have against aging and disease and have been proven time and time again to promote overall good health in many ways.
What scientists and doctors are slowly coming to realize now is that the best possible source of antioxidents is fresh Acai berry fruit. (Or properly prepared, flash-frozen Acai berries.)
Acai berries have a never-before seen level of Antioxidants occurring naturally, both in the fruits' pulp and in its' seed. Combined with the many other nutrients in the acai berry, it's no wonder that Dr. Perricone and many others consider Acai berries to be the "number one super food."
How powerful exactly is the Acai Antioxidant?
Acai berries grown at different plantations, at different harvests, in different soil conditions, and processed in different ways will greatly vary. However, the method for measuring the total antioxidant activity of a biological sample, called the "ORAC Value" typically rates the Acai berry at over 1200 ORAC per Gram, which is 12 TIMES higher than the next highest edible berry on the planet!

Red Grapes were previously one of the commercially available fruits in the US with the highest ORAC values. However, it has been found that acai berries have over 30 times more antioxidants than red grapes and 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine! That's 200% - 750% higher than any other fruit or vegtable known... Clearly it is the best source of Antioxidants on the planet.

It is estimated that the average person needs approximately 6000 ORAC per day, but 95% or more of the people in the world do not consume half of that daily amount.
The first person to run an ORAC assay on the Acai berry, Dr. Alexander Schauss, has written many well-recieved papers on the subject that were published in very reputable science journals. He's even running a study now that focuses on the power of the Acai berry's antioxidant in humans.
