I think I now know why there's no NB even this is more likely the scenario on future processors. But this is purely speculation.
Can someone refresh me how the NB and SB in X58 handles stuff? In LGA 1156 above, the memory is controlled by the CPU right and I/O is controlled by SB?
I'm sure most of you have noticed that there's a memory slot at the left beside the processor. Being the processor in the middle, that way the path between the memory and the CPU is shorter rather than the old way (X58 NB-SB). But what wonders me is that why not group all memory slots together in the right side of the processor? Although I personally believe that has no performance benefits, this definitely saves up some mobo space.
