Yup white boxes or generic notebooks are good in terms of pricing aspect. What aparts these notebooks from the branded ones are the support for future drivers updates and of course bugs fixes...

Well if your planning to use the notebook just as present setup (Windows XP, Windows 98 and present commonly used application software) then its fine, but if your thinking of using future OS or applications you better get a branded notebook.
