IMHO It's okay, I do it all the time.

My girl, seems insulted, asked me why I keep on staring at sexy and pretty girls, I just told her "I am just appreciating how they look, but you know what, no matter how they look good, you are miles away better than them. You are still the most beautiful girl, that's because I love you."

And I'm sincere and serious. No BS.

I guess as human beings we are designed to appreciate beautiful things. Even babies like colorful rattles and play balls. For me staring at pretty girls doesn't mean you're disrespectful, dirty, swinger or cheater, it's my nature and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
