inig madaot na imo sony bay andama nlang imo bulsa kung asa ka ug parts ug services mangita ana kay kadto namait ug sony sa amo diri nya gidala sa pinas mga nagmahay kay wla service center whereas kadto namalit ug toshiba ug hp wala labad sa ulo.
It's hard to tell on my end... I might be bias cuz I own an HP laptop and never tried a Sony.
Sony Laptops are very pricey... Big investment poor after sales support... means suicide..
I think sony is good where there is support available.. but for me.. Im loving my HP Pavilion right now.

Start with what you are going to use your laptop for. Word processing, gaming, web design, graphics? Once you have that figured out, search for the appropriate model. Sony Vaio has several to meet these needs but HP Pavilion is the multimedia end of HP laptops.
Personally (based on limited hands on experience), HP quality for me is below Sony and IBM. Asus still takes the cake for the brands I've tried. I have an IBM/Lenovo but I still pine for the build quality of the Asus I sold recently.
