Simply Canon 550D is on a different league compared to the lowly Nikon D3100. it's safe to say nga 550D always trumps D3100.

By the way ngano mag-switch man ka ug system if satisfied naka on what you have?


On the side note, 550D takes really good videos compared to D3100

Here are some things you may want to consider before making the trade:

1) What brand do most of your friends use? This is so that you can borrow their gear before you purchase your own.
2) Are you planning to really go into photography? High end Canon lenses cost less than high end Nikon lenses.
3) The D3100 is the best entry level camera out there as of writing. The Canon 550D is a toned down 7D.
