quite a tricky query but since you mentioned performance, id go with D300s. the 51-focus points with 15-crosstype sensors alone should help in extreme lighting situation and rapid shooting over the 39-focus points with 9-crosstype sensors. D300s can also engage 8fps(w/ bg) over 6fps with the D7000 which is a useful advantage to some who knows why.

you should/just need to use and maximize the capability of D300s to support that so called "performance".
