I currently have a homebased job as a Virtual Assistant. It's great as I am able to look after my baby.

LOOK FOR A FREAKIN DAY JOB... dont be stupid... and also warning lang sa mga nag freelance... once nga istriktohon sa BIR kanang mga freelance job.... yayay jud mo kay dagko kay mo tax, you wll be tax similar sa mga doctor, engineer ug lawyer... i experienced it PERSONALLY when nag freelance pako sa bigfoot...

online freelancing is different from offline freelancing...kay sa online pwde ra mg sabot ang client og ang worker thru emails and paypal or bank transfer... I think that's out of control of BIR. .murag ikaw jud na yayay bro.

Ok let me try to enumerate the pros and cons from my perspective.

Pros:
- You don't have to wake up early (unless your client wants you to, especially for VAs)
- Don't have to deal with traffic
- You have a highly flexible schedule. Want to take a day-off? Go ahead! This is perfect for me since I like to get away from work every now and then.
- No dress code.
- Don't have to deal with annoying officemates lol. Which means fewer interruptions.
- You get to save money by eating at home.
- You get to create your ideal work atmosphere according to your desires. If you like playing music, eating pizza, working while wearing your birthday suit, pwede!
- Pay is almost always higher than regular salaried workers in the Philippines.

Cons:
- Lack of a dynamic social life at work. Some of you might think that working alone is great, but when you do it for a few months, you'll crave for company.
- Distractions. This is my main problem. I have a hard time focusing on work because I'm easily distracted by personal emails, messages, YouTube videos, video games, porn
- Working at home also puts a strain on your relationships with those you live with.
- Loss of regimen. Working 9 to 5 daily has its good side. Because I have a highly flexible schedule, I often find myself working at 3 p.m. on one day, 3 a.m. the next.

I'm a full time VA, 1 year nako ga serve og duha ka employer. Depende nana sa mentality and work attitude sa tawo. Og molihok ka, maka kwarta jud ka. And naa nana sa imong pagka creative para di ma ka moboringan working home based.
