Is Sony's top semipro OK?

sony? pales in comparison with middle-roader canons... altho is was quite disappointed when i upgraded from 20d to 30d... not much of a jump what canon did from 300d to 350d... besides, i still shoot film...

re: lens... i could still use my tamron 28-300mm on the 30d... it's aspherical so max is around 20mm less...

Sony's A100 is just the entry level model... so actually it's not in the same catagory as the 30D. but Sony does have a pro version in the works said to come out probably by early next year

well after sony acquired konica-minolta, i think they'll come out with less of a sony and more of a minolta look... tested the d7 and d9... too bad no accessory support ever came out of minolta after that... i hope it'll be chocful of surprises as the d7/d9 but less weighty...

my first very own digital camera ... got it back in 2003. I've done a lot with it from magazine covers to billbaords... and it's still kicking! :mrgreen:

I have yet to get my feet wet in medium format... I borrowed a camera from a friend but it wouldn't trigger my lights.

I guess since this is on the art & lterature forum maybe we should limit topics
here to the study/process of making photographs and the problems/solutions involved
anything equipment related could be limited to kind of equipment, equipment settings,
positions, etc... that help make the photograph and would be unbias of brand or if one
gear is considered "more professional" than another

discussions/opinions on photography gear... what camera to buy, what lens fits me better,
upcoming models... could go to the technology » gizmos & gadgets board

anyway, just my 2¢
