i would agree sa post ni euthor & genzu73. but i also would like to add a note sa gipost ni mharkxman.

defragging will compress files sa hdd pero sa ako lang, i never defrag my hdd, why? coz the more you compress files sa hdd, in the long run ana, there's a good chance mahimo to mga bad sectors & w/c most likely will cause your hdd to stop working.

aside sa mga tips ni euthor & genzu73, you should also do disk cleanup sa imo hdd. adto ka sa my computer, right click sa imo hdd, choose properties, then sa general nga tab, click on disk cleanup.

tanawa lang ug tarong & put a check mark on the entries nga dapat nimo limpyohan. sometimes you'll be surprised on the amount of trash nga naa didto.

for example, kato sa laptop nako before, pagkabalo nako aning disk cleanup, nakalimpyo jud ko 5gb worth of crap sa hdd. after ato, it was marginally faster na.

you may also consider using CC Cleaner. very easy to use & very effective.

Disable startup programs (Yahoo and Live messengers eat lot of RAM)
Clean registry
Use light weight softwares (7zip instead of UnRAR)
Use single tasking freewares (to avoid bloatware all-in-one programs)
Don't install browser plug-ins (email alert, twitter, fb, have them bookmarked instead)
If you are not using POP3 emails in Outlook, disable Antivirus' email checking
Get rid of redundant programs (Chrome & Firefox already have built in Flash, Shockwave, Java, PDF reader, so no need to install them separately unless prompted)
And get that damn CD out of the DVD-ROM when not using.

agree ko ani... especially the last one... mao nay hinungdan madalig guba ang DVD Rom... no need to install fancy stupid software if you can just do it without them...

an also.... dont install too many application on your drive C: kay usa na sa makadugay ug load... for windows 7 give atleast 15-20gig of free space ang imo C

you can make it faster by upgrading to higher specs..hehehe ayaw pa left behind coz the technology is moving forward..especially sa games karn nga nag tika dako na ug recomended requirements..but mas maau ug upgrade ka sa imu RAM, videocard, etc2 para mu pas2 imu pc or installi ug windows 7 64 bit imu pc para pas2 mu load imu pc..hehehe

remove someuseless programs from the start up list.

go to msconfig then under strat-up, just remove the apps that you don't need.
