Blu-Ray didn't look any better than HDDVD. The reason why Blu-Ray won the format war was because Sony paid Warner Bros millions of dollars to change sides and make their titles Blu-Ray exclusive. This tipped the balance too far in favor of Sony and the other major film distributors followed suite.

For me HDDVD was better better because there's no region coding so no matter where you buy your disc it will play in your machine. I've actually got an XBOX360 hddvd player which I hooked up to my PC. The picture quality is identical to that of my Blu-Rays.

Out of all my discs I'd say the ones which I find visually most stunning are:

Tremors
Rescue Dawn
A Serious Man
Che Part 1
A Tale of Two Sisters
Patton
No Country For Old Men

i too had an xbox, video/audio quality wise compared to bluray mao2 ra. even rips look almost just as good and they are like 1:8 of the original size, dd/dts core audio payter na, mga bago na rips karun they use the dts-ma/truehd audio napud. spec wise though, bluray is superior.

i really doubt if naay pirated ani. but we'll never know. blue ray discs are made out of rare earth materials and its really expensive.
