    for equity fund we set it at 12% per annum conservative growth.
    you will need 63527 invested per yr for 15 yrs.

    Lisod man estimate because unpredictable kaayo ang mutual funds. However, if we assume that mutual funds could give about 20% from 2012 onwards, you need to invest P30,000 every year to have at least P3M after 15 years.

    Here's an estimation of how much you should invest to get at least P3M after 15 years.

    @10% - at least P80,000 a year
    @20% - at least P30,000 a year
    @30% - at least P11,200 a year
    @40% - at least P4,500 a year

    @10% - your investment would be P1,200,000 for 15 years
    @20% - your investment would be P450,000 for 15 years
    @30% - your investment would be P168,000 for 15 years
    @40% - your investment would be P67,500 for 15 years

    Rough estimations ra na for fixed rates. But since mutual funds aren't fixed and so unpredictable, the best way is to keep track of the NAVPS and invest heavily when it is down.

    In my case, this is what I do.

    1.) I invest on a regular basis (monthly) for just a very minimal amount which is P1000
    2.) If the NAVPS goes down, invest ko ug mas dako2

    So far, nindot2 ang performance sa mutual funds karon and some mutual fund companies are even going past the 50% mark.

    If you want to use this formula FA = AI(i+1) ^ n

    where:

    FA = Future Amount
    AI = Amount Invested
    i = interest rate
    n = number of years

    then you can estimate the future amount.

    To answer your question...the amount you need to invest is PhP 200,000.00 (lump sum). Interesr rate is 20% (Example lang ni ang interest rate). The number of years is 15. In 15 years, PhP 3,081,404.31.

    kani PhP 200,000.00 kay once lang ka mo invest.

    This formula FA = AI(i+1) ^ n magamit lang ni kung once lang ka mo invest. If you want to invest monthly or yearly ba ron....I suggest you must compute it manually....hehehehehe

    Happy Investing....=)

    Here's what to use if you want to calculate for growth in monthly or yearly intervals

    Balance = P(1 + r)Y + c[ ((1 + r)Y + 1 - (1 + r)) / r ]

    P= Principal
    c= additional investment
    Y= number of years, exponent na sila, di nako ma adjust
    r= rate of interest

    example:
    question, if imu age is around 30 nya you want to have like around 3 million in 15 years, how much would you roughly invest on MF per year lets say starting 2012?

    just some estimate based on current MF trend..

    P=c, for same amount every year
    r= 12% conservative growth for equity fund

    3M = P(1 + .12)^15 + P[((1+.12)^15+1 - (1 + .12))/.12]
    P=63527

    Estimate lang ni bro...

    If you invest Php 20,000.00 per year. It means you invest 1,600 plus something in every month.

    You will have Php 1,153,300.78 in ten years if the interest rate is 50%.

    lamats sa tanan, now naa nko idea pila ako target investment per year...

    Another question, Mas maayu ba mag monthly investment (Without considering about anang NAVPS) compare sa year end ka mu add sa imu MF? Like for one of the estimates nga 63k per year, asa mas okay 5k+ per month or 63K at the end of the year.. tnx
