woah, your company's got some blessed people under its' wing. cool stuff. If I'm not mistaken their being an artist is of pure hobby and somehow, its not completely related to work? correct me if I'm wrong.
anyways, yeah I was also hoping that us istoryans (lets start small) could jumpstart things (especially you guys in the comic art jam thread). I do think there are lots of people here whose talents boast alot in the things you've mentioned. Its either they're just shy (you know, the "hes-better-than-me-Id-rather-not-show" mentality) or just busy with work an school stuff.

same post sa other thread paunamhin po! wala na kasing iba!

@Junpei: Yes, we're just hobbyists. Unfortunately and in my opinion, some are letting their youth get in their way. You know - boyfriend, PC and PS games. I think I did the same and I only seriously reconsidered drawing this year (I'm now 36). If only I had started when I was in college I would now be an accomplished amateur or even professional artist by now. So my advice to you young people is to not make the same mistake I did. Draw everyday even for just one hour. If you're 18 now and when you reach my age, you would have drawn 6,480 hours. I also wish I had the balls to tell my father I wanted to take FA but I didn't.
Kimon Nicolaides, the author of the book "The Natural Way to Draw", ran away from home so he could pursue his dream of becoming an artist. His father didn't
want him to be one because "mapurdoy ra daw siya ana." Eventually his father supported him. Let's face it, would anyone of us rather die poor but happy than die wealthy but sad? In the end, with our least breath, can we truly say we lived our life to the fullest because we lived our dreams or puro pagmahay?
So, people like hala tindak jud, ipadayon ni inyo gibuhat bai.
^ maybe they're just being practical. one reason why most talented peeps take the other route. you know, money is less in being an artist or so they say. but still, if one has the passion to succeed they will get there eventually. I used to be in cafa-tc but decided to shift due to bad experience in the field and personal matters. hehe.
keep it up guys  I'm learning different styles too from the posts. hehe. wish i could rid myself of mono vision. vemps idea of taking care of it however didn't work or maybe I just need more practice ~_~
geez man.. i can really relate with this one. *sigh* i freakin swear i always wanted to take up fine arts.. i just don't know what happened really.. maybe i was just influenced with "wala kay makwarta ana" thingy..Originally Posted by cmontoya
