Flash memory is just not very economical as of the moment. Considering that flash memory has a limited number of write/rewrite cycles (10,000,000 last time I checked), you're better off with hard disk drives, which are far more cheaper and last longer.Originally Posted by yob

very wrong!!!.... if you want it fast u should use serial connection, not IDE, IDE uses parallel connectivity which is way slower compared to SATA.
How about this...a motherboard that has a built in memory(sort of a cache in a processor ) just for booting an OS, its like you have your own hard drive on the motherboard.
