@korg17 - imdb isnt the worlds opinion, its just a bunch of critics some real some PAID to write something good so anyone reading will jump into the wagon, and this is fact. its another way of marketing. read the award its local to America only, note america has a habbit of putting into words THE WORLD in thier awards or ceremonies its probably a nationalistic ideal that came way back from ww2. NBA <-- America basketball champions of the world! O_o UFC <-- local to america UFC Champ of the world O_o hello. if the show actually hit 1 billion viewers across the globe that would be a great show. 5million americans from a total of 350 million+ isnt much of a percentage. the contract was probably made before the show ended and before actual results came.
@AntitaniC - them firing the writers show they are desperate.
As long as there's an audience, especially American audience, that's all the network cares about. For American shows it's all about the Nielsen ratings which, last I checked, is based on American viewership. 5 million viewers for a cable show is actually really, really good numbers. Cable networks can only dream of such numbers.
This is coming from the Associated Press:
"...AMC's season finale of "The Walking Dead," the TV version of a comic book zombie series, scored the biggest audience ever for a basic cable drama series in the key young demographic of viewers ages 18-49, the Nielsen Co. said.
Six million people overall watched the final episode in its first airing Sunday night. Add in two later repeats that night, and the total audience climbed to 8.1 million viewers."
So, yeah, the show will continue for several more seasons, so haters keep trolling.
