The group of 52 nurses and medical staff filed a complaint accusing Delano Regional Medical Center of banning them from speaking Tagalog and other Filipino languages while letting other workers speak Spanish and Hindi.

Filipino languages must be the most irritating to the Caucasians . They must be suffering of a bad auditory system because of the rough hard consonants . But Filipino loves using hard consonants in English most of the time . That's why nowadays they require Filipinos to take ESL/TOEFL or whatever English necessary because they just can't handle listening how Filipinos speaks English , and ruining the best language .

For them , Spanish people sound smooth when they speak their language and English . Most Caucasian women loves fantasizing Spanish men whispering English with Spanish accents in their ears . While Caucasian men loves the Spanish culture , and loves everything from Latin America especially the women . Hindi people sounds funny when they speaks English , it amuse the Caucasians .

But Filipino people ... maybe the issue speaks for itself . Life is unfair . When will people realize that ?? America is not our country in the first place .

Bisan unsa ninyo kayod diha US kung dili mu kahibaw mu manage sa kwarta, dili jud gihapon mu gusto mu balik Pinas. Kahayahay ra diri.

Balik namu diri Pinas, ang USD hapit nana mawala. Kung maka save lang mu diha sa US up to 500,000 USD, pwdi namu mu retire diri Pinas. Basta ang interest lang gasto.a bisan dili lang ka ma negosyo.

read this one on yahoo. For me if they want the filipinos to speak english then all the people who are working in the hospital should speak english without any exception. Not just the filipinos.

I should imagine that one of the requirements for hiring was "fluent English". It's important to note that while Spanish is widely spoken in the USA statistically Tagalog is almost unknown.

I think it's a bad time for any OFW's (regardless of their nationality) to be obstinate. The US economy is still very bad and public opinion is fast turning against foreign workers. These type of jobs are not guaranteed for us and we should be mindful of the precarious nature of our economy here in the Phils.

it's discrimination, plain and simple. i would understand if they are prohibited from speaking in Tagalog during office hours, pero pati na man pud lunch breaks? sue the hospital! it's the americans' favorite pasttime man sab, suing people!
