LOL...a real sore loser.
"Ater the first goal, the Filipinos neglected offense and concentrated on defence. They built a wall of defenders in front of the Vietnamese goal and prevented any score. As minutes ticked away, the Vietnamese started to panick and when the second Filipino goal came, they all, including the 40,000 hostile hometown crowd, lost heart. The Vietnamese Portuguese coach, obviously sore at losing, criticized the technique and said the Filipinos did not really play football. But I think the Filipinos outsmarted the Vietnamese and we deserve the win."
Can this sorry excuse for a coach really claim that if the situation was reversed he would not do the same thing that the Azkals are doing?
At any rate, great job by the Azkals.![]()

never under estimate the pinoys! dah pildi nuon!....
Apparently it has been proven time and again that in team sports, defense wins championships. Good offense wins games but defense wins championships. So what if Vietnam had more crosses than the Philippines? RP's coach just outplayed him, the Azkals just outplayed Vietnam. RP's strategy was better, defense is the key in winning.
If Vietnam had more crosses, then how come they finished with nothing? IF RP had 3 attempts, how come they were able to score 2? If that's the case, then RP's defense was exceptional and Vietnam's defense was mediocre.
No matter how bitter he is, the outcome will never change. RP finished the game with 2 goals, Vietnam with 0. And oh, champions? LOL. Seriously, c'mon! If he's the coach of the champs, he should have figured out a way through RP's defense.
RP is going to be a football giant in Asia real soon. Defense is excellent and everything is improving.
LOLz! tawn sad sa mga Vietkong..But I think the Filipinos outsmarted the Vietnamese and we deserve the win."![]()
Anyone can be bitter over a loss, and such reaction is not limited to sports.
I remember a certain Cebu-based entertainer (and self-proclaimed talent developer) who went ballistic at her home after learning that the case she and her fellow entertainers filed against a certain major TV network got dismissed immediately. For her, it was a loss for Cebuano talent and entertainment in general.
Back to the topic, just how competitive is our nation in the sport of football, at least on the Southeast Asian level?
