 Re: conroe ready mobos
SATAI offers 150mb/s while sata 2 doubles that.. our current harddrives can only transfer at 45~55mb and those raptor X's at 60mb at most.. make into a raid-0 and thats 110~120max at most..Originally Posted by Generals
sataII also has a hotswap function and can be placed on the rear I/O pannel for enclosuers that support SATAII port

so what do you mean when you say that sata2 offers no benefits yet? no Mobo supports it pa?Originally Posted by EarlZ

 Re: conroe ready mobos
When i say it offers no benefits over SATAI i mean wala kay speed difference makita. harddrive speeds are dependent on the drive, if the interface ( such as SATAI and SATAII ) can provide more bandwidth than the drive needs then it would be even useless to use a 50mb/s drive on a SATAII port but im not saying that dont get SATAII capable motherboards, im just stating that theres no performance difference pa as of now.Originally Posted by Generals

 Re: conroe ready mobos
ah i get it. your saying the drive is only capable of 50mb/s in most of our sata drive available locally. and since this is so, getting a SATA2 is will not give that much benefits still.Originally Posted by EarlZ
since SATA1 harddisk paman available, no need to get SATA2.
is that what you mean?
thanks
