no, im using it at stock speeds due to they are used in a kiosk. quite risky if i shall attempt for it, i need longer life and stability of the machines for the operation. i have heard rumors, and read some articles and forums before that ecs is poor in overclocking.Originally Posted by Generals

all of the brands have their own high end models and low end models that price reflects. i have bought an Asus x-series boards and unfortunately, all of its heatsink holder pins on its northbridge chips got brittle right away and some gave off leaving the heatsink poped-up. guess this x-series i have bought is no good model from them due to i have observed other asus board from my barkada's kiosk and find it good.Originally Posted by Generals

guess they are still new in making their own boards even though they are the leading manufacturer of the tiny parts/stuffs in a board. so eventually, they are still stretching out some promotional activities to be more popular soon in making their own whole boards also. i remember when i have joined their quite tough promotional game online for the prize of a new motherboard they have made installed with a built-in geforce 6 graphic card, fortunately i won and sent my detailed address to them for the delivery of the prize but until now none arrived >.< maayo nalang unta to makatilaw ta og dinaogan nga mobo pero wala pa dyud maobot (sigh).. sayang...Originally Posted by yob

Some motherboard manufacturers, because of cost cutting, ended up with crappy models.
Even getting branded computers like HP and Sony won't guarantee you'll have a stable board before since some were affected by bad capacitors.
I encountered SP2 and USB related problems with some ASUS boards. It happens. I've seen Jetway, MSI and Asrock boards. Some of their models are ok.
Still i would recommend ASUS and INTEL.
just a note: If Tom's hardware says ASUS is good.. and my experience with ASUS tells me the same... IMHO, ASUS must really be good.

Intel branded mobo on Intel based computers is the best combination if your after pure stability over long perdios of time and Intel's motherboards are extremely durable. Altho they lack the overclocking performance but they arnt into that market.Originally Posted by cebutech
