Mao bitaw considering their age dili na ideal ang health care. Since layo2 pa man sila sa 60, at least naa madaganan in case magkasakit at a much cheaper premium compared to Kaiser. But in reality, employed pa man akong papa so naa pay siyay health care. Nikuha sila ug Kaiser but investment na lang nila, at least additonal nga dawatonon inig retire.

    For me.

    1) Health Care - Since, we don't have any Health care(HMO) in my company. I get one KAISER k35. In case kung naa mahitabo nako then dili nako ma worry, because I'm protected. =)

2.)Investment - I need to have investment like Mutual Fund so that I have passive income.

3.) Emergency Funds - I need this one so that it can protect my assets in case of emergency needs. =)

4.) Life Insurance - Murag dili pa nako need for this time, because I'm single (hehehehe). Second, I'm not a bread winner of the family. Third, Murag dugay pako kuhaon sa GINOO. =)

    5) Debt Management - Murag dili ni nako ma apply kay wala man koy utang from Credit Cards ug uban pa. =)

So kato mga single like me...Health Care sa inyong unahan para maprotect ninyo ang mga assets. =)

    Just my two cents....

I know Kaiser is a great product in comes of Health care (HMO). Why you don't have one too?

naa sad ka point. A positive note that I always say kay at least naay coverage and if mawala na sila, mapasa sa ila anak, which guarantees in breaking the cycle of no healthcare at old age for the next generation.

Numbers game na lang gyud mi. Late na man gud naintroduce ang Kaiser sa akong parents so we are taking other alternatives para mamaximize ang returns later on. Good thing kay both of them are healthy and so health conscious. Thank God.

For me, mutual funds na lang gyud ang para sa akong parents. The premium of health care and life insurance are so costly with their age kung kuhaan nako sila. But I'm positive nga naa gyud ni sila insurance, wa lang gasaba.

Great plan. Now that's what you call financial planning.

I think it's time to people should follow your example --> taking control of your finances and also taking care of your loved ones.

    keep it up bro!

Kaiser's 10% annually doesn't really look so lucrative for me in line with my parents age. After 5 years, their health care will be relying on Kaiser's annual compounding of interest which I think is less compared to other investments (example in mutual funds). So assuming they didn't use Kaiser for 15 years, they could opt for a lump sum of more than P500,000 but if I invest P1000 a month (mutual funds) for about 20% annually for 15 years, I could have nearly P1.2 million for their health care/retirement.

Kaiser is the only long term health care that I know right now and what concerns me is that the medical benefits is only good for the first 5 years.

What I actually did was, in order to cover them better, they both got Kaiser plans and at the same time, I invested in mutual funds for their retirement. In that way, they are double covered.

    Thanks.

For me, taking care of our loved ones is an obligation. To my parents, it is a way of repaying them all the great things that they have done for me and for my wife and future children, it is my obligation to provide them security and a life worth living.

On a much realistic and practical side, there is a need for us to cover our loved ones financially. Why? Because when they get sick or when they will need money, where else will they run to? No matter how hard we prepare for ourselves if we overlook our loved ones, it might backfire because they could drain us financially.
