it took blizzard almost a decade before stopping to balance brood war. we can expect the same with sc2... it needs its time to mature... and when that time comes, i'll be out and about again looking for betting games all over the country! weeeeeeeeeeee!

I just hope Pinoys won't go "ay banga man kaayo ko... ay maayo man ayo ka... balik lang ugma bai..." the very same mentality that brings our standards down... oh well, there's always the whole world to conquer!

I think it's too early to judge on whether Starcraft 2 is a hit.. since It's somewhat like 3 months it hit the shelves.. but I think Starcraft 2 will get to where Starcraft Broodwar will be.. I mean they're still developing and making for the expansions. We should give it a chance on it.

it is getting bigger and bigger. right now, the biggest e-port in the world the GSL tournament in Korea is in its 2nd season and we are entering quarterfinals. old school kings like slayers boxer and NaDa made it in the quarterfinals. season 1's champion fruitdealer was eliminated in round of 32. looks like everymonth there will be a new season. and more and more bw progamers are transferring to sc2.

I think its gonna surpass broodwar. broodwar was never intended to be an e-sport. it just so happens that the koreans made it big. SC2 on the other hand was developed to be an e-sport. and looking at all the tournaments happening around the world in a span of like 3 months. its GG.

zerg players right now are starting to learn the zergs full potential. its very hard to win against zerg these days. look at the GSL 2, the fewest representation but ended up the most that made through round of 32. last month, they think of zerg as weak since they compare unit for unit but the zergs true strength is its macro ability.

I doubt there was ever a game intended to be an "e-sport"... in fact, I doubt anybody even intended to do e-sports... its just the gamers themselves that made it happen.

one thing's for sure though, blizzard has learn a lot from brood war and they're trying to capitalize on that with sc 2.

the only thing i hate sc2 is that LAN is no longer available, does that don't have internet connection can't play with others. hohoho...
i have 3 pc, would have been nice if naa ang LAN,
would have played with my gf with this...
now im stuck with playing the campaign and AI skirmish...

oooppppsss..you're wrong, they're not weak.."Fruit Seller" or was it "Fruit Dealer" won a tournament sponsored by Intel (I forgot the tournet, but it was last Oct), and he is a Zerg player. If you watch his strats you'll see that it takes more to beat Zerg, the simplest Mutaling build can win you a championship...

They are not weak, Zerg is just hard to play with, but I adore those who can win a championship using Zerg!

    EDIT:

It was the OGSL Tournament, Fruit Dealer/Fruit Seller (Zerg) won against HopeTorture (Terran)..not sure if it was HopeTorture for the finals..
