    None at all.. It'll just get stuck at the Windows start up logo.

    Try to access the system in safe-mode (usually f8 at the startup). If that works, back up all the data and get ready for a reformat. Maybe you can just use system restore if you're very lucky. Tell me if safe mode works, and if it does, maybe print out a Hijack this log. Cheers.

    I don't think software is the problem here.. Must be the hardware 'cause removing the new Ethernet card will allow the system to boot up completely.

    move the new NIC to a different PCI slot.

    It could be the mobo. Is there an extra PCI slot? If so, have you tried putting your Ethernet card in it?
