Earlier today producer Kondo Hikaru tweeted the announcement of a 「Anime Tenchou x Touhou Project」 anime collaboration project. It will be produced by ufotable. It is the 3rd of 10 projects being done to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Anime Tenchou. The special will be shown at the 「Animate Ichioshi Bishojo Anime Matsuri」 event held at Nissho Hall on November 20th.

Touhou creator ZUN did mention the crossover project on Twitter and has stated he has no direct involvement — considers it a secondary work.

There were already two animes of Touhou Project pero fanmade lang, kini kay OFFICIAL ni tungod kay UFO TABLE of Animate ang naghimo. Ag kadtong animeha kay Touhou Anime Project: Musou Kakkyou [東方二次創作同人アニメ 夢想夏郷] (Summer Day's Dream) sa Maikaze pero wa low man ang kita, og ag another kay gikan sa doujin circle known as "Sound Holic" that made Touhou Side Story Project: Hoshi no Kioku [星の記憶](Memories of the Stars).

This time, we finally have it! Makes me scream this out:
"Wrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyy!" This now makes a danmaku of win!

Edit: The Touhou charcters in the poster in a counterclockwise direction goes:
-Ran Yakumo
-Yukari Yakumo
-Reimu Hakurei
-Marisa Kirisame
-Flandre Scarlet

These characters are all from Touhou 1~Highly Responsive to Prayers (Reimu), Touhou 2: Story of Eastern Wonderland (Marisa), Touhou 6~Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil (Flandre) and Touhou 7~Perfect Cherry Blossom (The two Yakumos).
