what ripoff? come on...you go to nokia, samsung, sonyericsson, or just about any service center in the country and they charge checkup fees. hmmm, basin na anad lang mo sa gizmo offering a NO FIX NO PAY policy. hehe

you go there to get a job done on your battered gear...you pay for that job! isnt that how its suppose to be?! the job is diagnosing/checking the camera. you go to them for a reason, coz you can't do it yourself. that takes skill (mahal pa train ug technicain). that takes time (gi sweldohan gud na sila inoras). that requires their resources.

nikon service center? in cebu? where?? hahaha!
ang tinuod, gasto paka pa shipping...hulat paka dugay...gasto paka long distance calls...ka sturya nimo yugit pa kaayo english...di kamao mag binisaya...labad!

btw, when the host kai (a nikon fanboy) pointed out in this video that hk nikon service center even gave him a free screw. truth is he was actually charged HK$2,000 for that nikon repair which included the "free screw"...its in his other video

fyi, just this 3 months ago a new clients d90 (2moths old) lcd failed and so pa ship to hk. came out about 12k for that fix. he just got it back last week.
around the same time 3 months ago a client with canon had a "hot pixel" (more like a line really hehe) it was replaced inside a week. na delay lang gamay tugod sa proof of purchase receipt gipagita pa.

It is a rip off, ka obvious ana. Initial diagnostic / checkup should be given to the loyal customers as a royalty for free, give the customer an option if iya ba ipa-continue ug pa-fix ang isa ka butang or dili after the findings sa diagnostics, dili pabayaron una ka before i-diagnose. Imagina lang naguba imo camera sa Canon, imo gidala sa ilang service center, front desk tells you nga you need to pay first before nila i-check/diagnose ang problem, unya if dili nila ma-resolve ang issue due to parts nga dili available ky i-order pa then pila pa ka months maabot ganahan ka ana? Tapos pabayaron paka?

Tell me which outweighs more, the satisfied customers or the disgruntled ones who's been at Canon's service center? 3-year warrantied product, on for repair due to factory defect or for cleaning and yet they tell you nga 2-3 months ang turn-around time, ganahan ka ana on a customer's point of view?

On the side note... Gizmo's NO FIX NO PAY POLICY gets a from me.

Like I said its royalty to the customers, make them happy, give them confidence in your product after sales so that they'd come back and buy for more. Ending company gets filthy rich....

Bottom line, local after sales service by Canon gets a

a rip off would be if you paid for something and you didnt get what you paid for. here you paid for a service that you require, not a ripoff.

correction...you do not pay first...actually, you pay later and that can be waived in certain situations...ive had it happen to me sa s.e. and sa canon before. no biggy hehe

syempre satisfaction... but bottomline, its not a ripoff. paying 300pesos smart load only to find out na 210pesos nalang dayon nabilin maski wa pa magamit...now thats a ripoff!
3months? dugaya gud ana. longest iv heard is 3-4weeks. bagohay ra na or taod2x na? ako as a customer i expect it in days or weeks max. many here(istorya members) who've asked my assistance can confirm this. a week lang usually ang timeframe na akong ihatag for servicing or warranty claims unless special circumstance. 3months...id demand a replacement gyud of the whole unit. teka...are you canon user?

    thank you
