the beat combi brake? for me, its a design flaw... front and rear braking for motorcycles (even bicycles) are separate for a good reason.... balance and control.

if combi brakes are superior, bakit yun mga pang moto gp, sportbikes, bigbike, chopper bike, underbone etc. hindi combi brakes?

    2. beat is very noob(ako ni) friendly. side stand shut off ensures that you don't go riding with the sidestand down. i've heard a lot of b.s. about the braking system. as a user, i have not had a problem with it. dili man pud na magdungan ang imong brake.

    it's this way:
-left brake lever: engages rear brake 100%, front brake (just a guess) 40%.
-right brake lever: engages only the front brake
-best braking technique: brake at the left when you want to slow down gradually. when you want to power stop, use both brakes. i mostly use left and right combination braking and rarely use the right brake only. the left brake is regularly in use.

(about banking/sliding: i regularly ride from cebu to pinamungahan via naga. kadtong nakaagi na ngadto, you know how tempting it is to "ride low" when cornering at the twisty roads of the mountain roads. you also know that it can be very dangerous because trucks carrying gravel usually drop small amounts of gravel on the road, especially at the shoulders. when the weather is wet, the roads can also be slippery. i've been tempted a few times and have succumbed an equal number of times to the temptation. i have at times found myself slipping both from gravel and from wet patches when banking. in these times, i've recovered quite nicely with my combi-brake system. i don't know any special techniques and i certainly am not a racer. i can't even tell you how i did it except to say that all i have is months of riding experience with my beat.)

    3. beat is very economical (when treated right). my beat averages at around 36~38km/l city riding. open road riding, i don't even measure. all i can tell you is that i can get from cebu to pinamungajan in one full tank (i think tank capacity for the beat is 3 liters) and still have some to spare. i don't feel like modding my beat either because it looks cool enough and rides comfortably and powerfully enough for me.

one thing i should stress to you, though if you plan to get a beat. find the best mechanics for it. some mechanics (Honda 3s mechanics, even), think that its more or less the same with other MC's engine-wise. it's not. be very careful what oil they load up when you get your beat. they might be using the usual "MA" motorcycle engine oil for it. the beat needs the "MB" oil designed specifically for scooters
