Is there a difference between passive and active Pick ups? (i'm not referring to the sound)

Like if I want to change the pickups of my active J bass, and replace it (just the pick up) with a stock fender 4-string passive; Can it be done? Will my bass still active.

Ang Passive pick up sa bass kay mao nah ang ordinary bass nga plug and play lang...
Ang Active pick up sa bass kay moa nah ang require ug 9V nga battery... Ang uban ana kay dili guyd siya mo tingog if lowbatt nah ang batt sa imo pick up... And uban kay mo tingog japun like atong mga bass nga pwede siya passive ug pwede pud siya passive...

Pwede nah nimo ma ilis ilsan ang pick up sa bass from passive to active or vice versa as long as same ang size sa pick up nga imong iilis...

Akong bass nga hammer vel 2 (napalit sa JB) ganahan ko sa pagkahimo (porma, length and everything) murag kulangan lang ko sa iya sound. Murag kuwang og gamayng punch (sa ako sigurong taste). so I was thinking na basin dapat ilisan og like nortstrand ba kaha na pick up. Di lang ko kabalo kung maapply ba. ako sad gihunahuna maybe kay ash ang body.
