tryied it yesterday, though b4 try ko sa pantalan bata pa ko, again did it yesterday @ co jordan. heheheh lingaw labi na karn time sa gun ban.... anyone who can advice me asa ta kapalit og barato nga rod and reel? dali raba ma kat unan? i wanted to try this for past time....

As what P-chan & them blokes here advised me where to look & buy, try out these stores:

-TCE Tackles in Mandaue
-Toby's Sports Shop in SM
-Chris Sports in SM
-HMR Trading behind Sto. Nino Church downtown Cebu City


Bought two rods from TCE tackles, a compact telescopic rod & reel for Bait-casting & Spin-casting (as i can't decide which ones i like). Both set costs me no more than 3.5k, complete with line, lures, floaters, hooks, etc. Also bought a Shakespeare two-piece rod / spin-casting reel combo from HMR trading for about 2.4k.

Tried using the compact tele-spin rod @ an irrigation pond last weekend @ i caught a good sized Snakehead, after about 3hrs of fiddling with the line. Not bad for my first try...

I got my tele-rod + spinning reel + line, lures, hooks, etc from TCE Tackles all for less than 1k.

And it's a bloody good deal

Anyone here tried fishing at Lake Malingin? I've heard they have african catfish, giant snakeheads & Tarpons...

They're one of the same. Different names, same body of water.
Between Toledo City & Balamban Town. I'll be nice to camp out there and fish.

BTW, i'll be heading to Ormoc's tri-lakes (Lake Kasudsuran, Lake Danao & Janagdan Crater Lake) this Oct. 16-21, for a little backpacking photo / fishing trip. Anyone interested to join, PM me. This sure would be fun, i can't wait to fish on these lakes. As well as take all the photos i want... Nat. Geo. style!!!

also am interested to explore the possibilities of lake malingin.. should be interesting. any other info on the lake?is there a place to stay? howto get there etc?
