Former Detroit Pistons PF/C Rasheed Wallace made an appearance today at the Detroit Pistons’ practice, which was open to the fans. The surprise came shortly after the team was announced to the fans, which shocked many in attendance. Sheed, decked out in a black sweatsuit stopped in and was seen sitting behind the “white” team bench talking to Joe Dumars during the “20 in 2″ drill (make 20 layups in 2 minutes).

There was an audible “Sheeeeeeed” chant when he slapped hands with members of the “white” team before heading back into the locker room area right before the scrimmage.

Over 8,000 fans were in attendance of Saturday's open practice.

Kahinumdom pa jud ko, I skipped classes & was playing Counter-Strike when I heard the news that GRANT HILL was traded to Orlando for Wallace & Atkins.
Surok akong dugo kay mga wa-il ang gi-trade sa among team superstar.

But after a couple of seasons, I started to realize Wallace is a defensive freak-of-nature & has since become my fave NBA player ever.. Fear the Fro!

Report: Karen Davidson to sell Detroit Pistons to Tigers, Red Wings owner Mike Ilitch

The owner of the Detroit Pistons and Auburn Hills-based Palace Sports & Entertainment Inc. has chosen to open negotiations to sell the basketball team and venue management company to Detroit pizza and sports industrialist Mike Ilitch, Crain's has learned.

It's believed that a deal will be worked out in the next 30 days.

Any sale of the Pistons will require a vote by the National Basketball Association's other team owners.

It's unknown how much Ilitch might pay for the team and PS&E, and a final purchase price is likely still not set. Crain's reported in September that bids were submitted around Labor Day.

[...] The Ilitch organization is interested in building a new downtown arena for the Red Wings, to replace aging city-owned Joe Louis Arena, and owning the Pistons and having them as a co-tenant is widely seen as beneficial to financing a new facility.

Pistons 89 - Heat 105 ... minus Dwyane Wade

A lot of the same problems that plagued the Pistons last year, resurfaced again tonight in the first preseason game. There should be emphasis on the first preseason game, but the Pistons looked lackadaisical. They turned it over too many times (19), didn't move the ball around (13 assists), and played really poor defense. They even had a couple injuries -- Jerebko left with a right shoulder injury and didn't return, and Tayshaun left briefly with a head injury.
