a 2.8 can do F4 but an F4 can't do 2.8

f4 cannot compete w/ f2.8 regardless of the glass material ang lens construction.
so between the two i prefer Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX DG HSM II...

hehehehe kauban ra ni sa istorya sa 50mm prime vs kit lens (18-55) .... a kit lens can do 50mm daw, but the 50mm cannot go to 18mm and 55mm. but bisan unsaon nimo ug bali bali, the kit lens cannot complete with 50mm in terms sa IQ.

on the otherhand, try shooting sigma 70-200 @ f2.8 and sigma 70-200 @ f4.0 ... and try to compare the IQ.

besides, its not JUST about f2.8 vs f4.0 ... another most important part is the lens construction and the type of material of the glass being use as well as the type of filters you use on top of your lens (if any).

which means if i have a canon 70-200 f2.8 and a sigma 70-200 f2.8, it doesn't mean they will produce the same IQ. Mag depende na sa glass material (ex. UD) and lens construction.

And of course, QA sa company.

your comparing kitlens and 50mm? they dont even have the same focal length. Why not try to compare the Canon and Sigma's 50mm 1.4.
I know sigma has QA issues but you can always test it.

I also know its not the f4 or f2.8, but 2.8 can help you a lot regardless of the construction, elements and what have you.

Try shooting with the f4 indoors, especially when the TS is a wedding photographer, you'd want more than 2.8

Naa man nay pros and cons ang duha ka lens, basta take note lang nga ang sigma medyo orangey ang appearance sa skintone when mounted on a canon, no problem there if you apply treatment on your process workflow

anyway, im not a wedding photographer but ive been shooting indoor with my F4 lens without any problem (and im not a PRO either, im just a newbie hobbyist). The difference between f2.8 and f4 can easily be compensated by a minor adjustment in ISO (afraid of noise?) and of course make use of your FLASH (internal/external/hotshoe mounted) if you have one.

Pao, mao sad ako nabasahan nga review. 70-200 f4 is sharper daw compared to 70-200 f4 IS. Wa pa hinuon ko naka try sa F4 IS
