wala lang cguro tarong exposure mao dli kau matagad
theres politics in our entertainment industry, that's why they end up hiring "cuties" than talent.
I approached some locals and asked them if they heard about a Cebuana, Dona Veliganio, who won the Danz Showdown of GMA, their reactions:
1. Dona who?
2. What showdown?
3. I don't know.
Too bad for Veliganio.
we need a bit of exposure and influential persons to back us up
Exposure is not enough because here in Cebu, people easily forget about the entertainers who performed in front of them. Sad and true, local entertainers are just "nobody" to the local audience.
Look at the last time GMA organized a show here in Cebu - people strongly remember Marian Rivera and other Manila stars but when it came to local performers, so many just forgot about them.
Influential people who really know how to sell talents and keep them on people's minds are needed.
TV industry need people who can sell ... They're looking for talents as supporting cast only but not for lead role ...
Local entertainers need to realize something - that having a local language variety show is not a good way to show their performances and entertain the local audience.
GMA here in Cebu used to have local variety shows (featuring all-Cebuano talent) broadcast on weekends but they had to pull the plug on them because of low viewership, not to mention tons of criticism from the locals that the shows feature too much over-acting, boring dance shows, "low quality performances", etc.
Guess what? A certain group of local talents sued GMA in a local court after the network canceled their TV show. The case was dismissed so fast by the local court, it made the talents heads spin and broke their hearts.
Perhaps the poor and desperate dancers of Cebu should start applying to Cebu Pacific after watching this

You said "We". Are you a local entertainer desperately seeking help?
Back to the topic, no matter how good or sexy local dancers look and no matter how good they perform, they are always forgotten by the local audience. It's a sad but true fact.
Look at these Cebu dancers below
After their performance on the August 1, 2009 show at Ayala Center Cebu, nobody cared about them anymore.
