Its very possible. There are lots of catholics that don't follow EVERYTHING the catholic church teaches. There are also those that are alienated by the church's archaic stand on issues like divorce, contraceptives, premarital s3x, being gay/lesbian etc etc.

The church needs to stop acting like a congressional bloc. They are probably the most powerful and influential lobbyist in congress.

Only Malta, Philippines and Vatican City do not allow divorce...

The church will continue to shape government policy if the people are dumb enough to follow like sheep.

    1. Wala koy political ambition..
    2. Were talking about issues not personal beliefs.
    3. The church has increasingly showed that it is not united on different issues.
(case in point CBCP not coming to a common decision w/ regards to Jun Lozada)
    4. Church (including the current Pope) is fully knowledgeable about the s3x abuse scandals and has failed to act on it. (its the hot topic sa U.S. karon incase you don't know) (Pope has acknowledged knowing about these abuses yet the only action is to transfer these erring priests around... and there's not much being done in giving justice to the victims of these abuses. These acts are criminal in nature. Just because the people who did them wear the cloth does not excuse them from being jailed... law should be equal to all men.

    5. Corruption within the church has shown itself more and more. For most of these high ranking officials, money buys allegiance

I have good friends who are priests and I really believe that most of the people in the church are really good. There are just several bad eggs in there most of them are in the higher echelons where money and power corrupt.

I have not lost my faith, My criticism of the church merely states how it is performing below my expectations of what a religious organization should be.

With regards to politics, just because I disagree with the stand of the church doesn't mean wala na koy Faith. Yet again, the church is trying to strong arm its moral highground by telling us that if we have a different viewpoint then we are sinners or we have lost our Faith.... that is the sad part... tsk tsk.

balik2x naman na issue, its whether ang Church or government would be the moral leader. I still choose the Church .. and free will ? dugay na ta may free will, kadaghan condom, contraceptive etc available in the market noh, thats between you and God .. but God is merciful though.

kung gusto ng gobyerno maghatag ug free condoms etc bahala na sila mag usik2x ug kwarta

i hope dili magpa dala c noy2x sa simbahan...

Pabor ko aning gihimo ni PNoy to address population issue. Dili dapat mo palag ang simbahan. Ang gobyerno nagbuhat lang sa unsay angay nga buhaton. Let the church do their part too. Besides, ang tawo gihatagan na ug utok. They know what is good or bad. And most of all they have their own free will. Naa ra na nila which path to take, good or bad. Naa ra sa mga parokyano kung asa sila, heaven or hell. As what Obama said in his interview, "I am pro-life but I am also pro-choice." If the church is influential enough, they must have guided their flocks to the right way.
