somehow when we think success as only being comfortable in life, it gives a very shallow meaning to our existence hence the materialistic orientation of the people....i'm guilty of such..... this is a good eye opener, a contrast on the current trend not only in Phil but in the entire world.... We give too much credit to unimportant things... we strive for wealth rather than contribution... somehow when we try to compare the material wealth of other people with ours, we tend to focus more on that aspect only.... when we are about to die, an important question should be answered..." what have i done for humanity?" i think most us have only petty reasons to supply...

yes absolutely sayop ka.. If we raise the youth with full of compassion and love our country and countrymen then every accomplishment they will get they will tend to share it, use it to help our people.

yes it's not an issue if Filipino scientists will go abroad to enhance and expand their knowledge as long as they return to their homeland and share the results, but most often they do not come back instead they stick to that place and become a citizen which benefits that country whenever they discover something new like medicines for sure price will be too high for our poor fellow Filipino people to afford.

yes it's not an issue if Filipino scientists will go abroad to enhance and expand their knowledge as long as they return to their homeland and share the results, but most often they do not come back instead they stick to that place and become a citizen which benefits that country whenever they discover something new like medicines for sure price will be too high for our poor fellow Filipino people to afford.

sounds like jose rizal man ni.. hehe.. bitaw, sakto ni, pero i cant blame Filipino scientists who wont return in our homeland, they cant maximize their potentials here. i hate to say this but i think our resources for science needs are just way too low and too old compared to other countries like in japan (duh.), etc. if i am a scientist specializing in microelectronics, take for example, and i did expand my knowledge abroad, i go back here, now what? is there a room for me to tinker things out? Can the government fund all my science needs?

as of the issue about the wrong upbringing of the youth by their parents as pointed reason for the depleting population of scientists here, dili ko makauyon ani jud.. hehe.. tua ra sa first paragraph akung nakit ang rason!and besides, we are living in a material world (sama pa ni madonna), so if there is somebody to blame if ever youth are materialistic, it should be the world itself, not the parents!

well it's your opinion.. but I disagree coz the world is place we live in it doesn't take any actions to make a change, it's we humans who takes action and makes the changes..
