MANILA, Philippines — “We are not a student council because we do not have a sergeant at arms," President Benigno S. Aquino III's spokesman said Tuesday.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda made the comment on Tuesday in reaction to Senator Joker Arroyo's statement that the country is being run like a student council because of “hits and misses” of Aquino’s top officials.

I bet those under PGMA before would be thinking inside... sauna Le Cirque (Lobster, Steak, Wine)... karon kay In-N-Out na.. (Burger, Fries and Softdrink)... lol

What's wrong with being equated to a student council anyway? Does the good senator belittle the capabilities and leadership skills of the youth?

Student councils work within their boundaries of power and financial limitations... there is nothing derogatory with it as they too have their own duties and responsibilities. To say that the country is being run like a student council isn't necessarily an insult... on the contrary... I would take it as a compliment as the student council in my school (admu) had very little to no corruption and it had members who were not hungry for power and would rather step down than besmirch the name of the institution.
