Yup not yet. but you can now get to use the hdmi capabilities of your monitor by using a converter. I tested it on a macbook and my desktop pc only. I have yet to try on an xbox 360 if ever there is a cable available.

The sooner they sort out the whole HD-DVD vs. Blu-Ray format fiasco, the better. With one true format being the standard, studios will then be publishing more titles on that next gen format (whoever wins) supporting true high-def (1080p). This is where your HDMI interface really kicks in.

HDCP will be the demise of HDMI and future HD ambitions. Have workarounds been made againsta HDCP?

But what does true high-definition 1080p mean to you? Maybe if it's CGI movies that you primarily watch.. even then with most animations you can't tell 1080i, 720p, and 1080p apart already. The saturation produces a sharpening effect that sort of confuses the eye especially bright colored cartoon/CGI movies.

As for the real movies/shows like those from DVD or HDTV it's a different thing. These movies/shows are still being recorded at a mere 480i. Yes, interlaced, even the expensive bull crap ones that have superbit on 'em. So what are we currently getting? After a lot of processing, we are all getting an upscaled video from a 480i recording.

That kinda sucks don't you think?

Maybe the interpolation and de-interlacing have improved immensely over the few months since i've come to know about this. I highly doubt hollywood's gonna change the thousands of cameras they already have just because Blu-Ray or HDTV or 1080p is here. Most people buy any new fancy tech name that comes their way anyway.. why go through all the trouble of spoiling that?

Some say HDMI's the new thing. I tihnk it's the same old thing plus a lot of makeovers.
