just an update/warning to those who are thinking of doing the same thing as we did, MARRYING after getting immigrant visa approved BUT BEFORE LANDING.

DON'T DO IT!

We did this since we trusted CONSUL ROBERT LEE's advise - the same advise he gave to 2 other people I know - that getting married before landing is the best way to go since our immigrant visa has been approved.

I'd like to comment on the hell that my family, 6 of us, had to go through all because of the misinformation that a so-called CANADIAN CONSUL gave us but I'll save that for later.

for now, DON'T GET MARRIED BEFORE LANDING and by all means, DON'T EVER, EVER, EVER LISTEN TO THE SO-CALLED CANADIAN CONSUL that goes by the name of ROBERT LEE who resides in CEBU CITY.

I'll update this thread once we get to do our next move - after all, we are now back in the Philippines and our principal applicant is a respected City Prosecutor.

On my personal experience, in all fairness to Consul Lee, he's been very helpful on my transition to Canada, he's been helping me contacting people in the place I'll be migrating and he's been giving me sensible advice, even his wife has been advising me on what to bring or not.

As to the case of marrying before migrating, thou he gave me the advise (caveat: if I remember it right)I didn't give much important to it since it has not been my case..., I'm really sorry to hear bout Ma Meng's case, hope he/she can share his/her experience here aron ma educated pud mga hopefuls.

BTW, just saw sa tv patrol last night na mas ni strict na jud kuno ang Canada on their guidelines for granting visa esp. for the skilled, may nalng naka lusot pako hehehe, FYI

mao ba bai, that's really sad, unsa diay jud nagka problema ani? my advise is, seek Consul Lee's advise bout this, ngno nagka in.ana inyong situation, aron way miscommunication, kay basin misunderstanding ra jud nahitabo on your case. Aron naa pud kay reference on the action you taken. Sorry bai, as what I mentioned above, on my case, he has really been helpful and when he mentioned bout the getting marriage before leaving and all, I didnt pay much attention, so I cant tell 100% kung sakto jud ang pag paminaw nako kay surely di man gud xa mao sa akong case....goodluck bro, seek the advise of Consul Lee.
