We do understand the issues that you are facing with regard to the WLAN connection in your device. We would like to thank you for choosing Nokia C3 as your preferred device and we are glad to assist you. With regard to your inquiry, here are the following procedures that you may follow to resolve your issue:

    A. You may connect to a WLAN connection by following these steps:

    1. Go to Menu
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Select Connectivity
    4. Then choose WLAN.
    5. Search for available wireless local area networks by selecting Search WLANs, choose the network you want to use from the list and select Connect.

    B. You may also need to modify the connection settings on your device by steps below:

    1. Go to Menu
    2. Go to Settings
    3. Select Connectivity
    4. Choose WLAN
    5. Select Internet connection
    6. And choose between Ask first or Do not ask.
    - If you select Ask first, you are asked for the connection method every time you open an application which requires an internet connection, such as Browser or Mail.
    - If you select Do not ask, the device connects automatically to a saved WLAN if available, if saved WLAN isn’t available, GPRS is being used.

You may like to visit our website at Nokia Philippines - Home for more information and support for your Nokia device. If you have further enquiries, please write to us again or contact Nokia Careline at 886 1234. We operate between the hours of 8:30 am and 8:30 pm, seven days a week.

Here's the complete meaning from GSMArena.com - GSM phone reviews, news, opinions, votes, manuals and more...

EDGE (Enhanced Data for Global Evolution)

EDGE (also known as Enhanced GPRS or EGPRS) is a data system used on top of GSM networks. It provides nearly three times faster speeds than the outdated GPRS system. The theoretical maximum speed is 473 kbps for 8 timeslots but it is typically limited to 135 kbps in order to conserve spectrum resources. Both phone and network must support EDGE, otherwise the phone will revert automatically to GPRS.

EDGE meets the requirements for a 3G network but is usually classified as 2.75G.
