Default AMD ''Caicos'' Radeon HD 6300 Series Reference Board Pictured, Too

Here are the first pictures of the AMD "Caicos" Radeon HD 6300 Series GPU, the company's next entry-level graphics product, successor to the Radeon HD 5400 series. The new GPU is seated on the AMD reference design board which already seems to taken shape as a qualification sample. The design reveals a low-profile, single-slot, passively-cooled card that makes do with just a small heatsink to cool the GPU and two memory chips on the obverse side. While the GPU-Z shot doesn't reveal much, it does give out the GPU identifier "6779", which corresponds to "Caicos" in the latest Catalyst driver. The GPU is said to be built on the 40 nm process, and from the looks of it, connects to DDR3 memory.

At the gpu-z screenie focus on the GPU code "6779" it corresponds to the code on the Caicos in AMD driver support list.

Well the one sided war ( looks at nvidia with dismay ) starts this October. Price monopoly here we come, screw nvidia if that happens :P

It's quite a healthy competition on what's happening on those GPU cards on the market seeing that ATI have come a long way since the early graphics card that they had released that most people are into NVIDIA graphics..We'll see on the release of the HD 6000 series this October if they are still the King (excuse me nvidia fans, it's only my opinion) of the GPU industry..

Give it up for AMD Radeon this October..^_^..

^^ For sure brad Nvidia has plans on it. We just don't know when lang jud..Nvidia pa gibantog na baya na sila sa binisaya pa..It'll just hit AMD's Radeon cards when they least expect it so that begins a healthy competition..Then there goes the price drop equals consumer happy.hehehe..
