P500-1k would be more than enough. Be self-sustained and pack light, this'll be enough.

And no, Carcar is not too far for the 1st stop. If you're really determined and focused to do this walk, then it's doable.

What i'm concern now is the documentation. Who will document the event, that the said participant(s) really did walk the whole event? From start to finish, without cheating (taking any other form of transportation, side from your bloody feet)? Do we need to take on a video camera that would record the whole event non-stop, for the whole duration of the event??

How do we do this? A head-mounted camera (VGA probably to save storage space and minimize physical weight) and a HDD file storage?

Shooting with stills every rests and stops won't guarantee us from the cynics and skeptics. They would easily say that we took the snapshots along the way, and continued forth on the trip from a vehicle.

A fool-proof way would be a 24hr, non-stop video recording of the event. From start to finish.
