FYI
have just called today in GI silverstone st50f-essentials 500watts 80+ - Price P2795.00
GI Based their prices on the prevalent market price of the competition. When PCQB marked ES at Php ~2800, they marked down theirs at Php 2,600. NOw that PCQB returned it to Php ~3000, they raised their price a bit also.
As I said before, I'm not a Brand-Fan or something. When something is good for me based on the Price-Performance ratio, I'd get it over the more famous counterpart. After all, they're all machine parts... just because Brand A has produced a good line of parts, that doesn't mean that Brand X or Brand Z couldn't do the same. If there's a equivalent but cheaper alternative for basic needs, I'd go for it. Else, I'd go for the famous ones if there's really nothing within its level.
If you're a Brand-Fan, say you're a fan of Brand A (Famous brand); Brand A will always make their prices high just because they don't have a strong competition. But if you cherish, Brand X and Brand Z, which make equivalent alternatives, then Brand A will undoubtedly lower their prices to compete. Healthy competition = More savings for the consumers. So, I always say, go for the price, performance and quality...don't go for the name only.
